AWD has an active awards program which acknowledges the dedication and hard work of it`s members. Each year the Division receives nominations for the awards and through a selection committee presents the following awards at it`s Annual Awards Banquet held in conjunction with the Annual Division Conference.
The following are the awards and a brief description for each along with the recipient for the 2009-2010 season.
Brian Connell Training Officers Award
Presented to the patroller in the division who has shown outstanding proficiency in the field of First-Aid. This may include exceptional handling of first-aid situations on or off a ski hill. Proficiency as an instructor in F/A or outstanding ability to organize first-aid training by either on-snow or classroom situations.

Rod Buttery Memorial Award
Presented to an alpine or nordic patroller in the division who has been outstanding in his involvement as a patroller, has shown support of the system by his actions and has done his utmost to live up to the standards set by the CSPS.

Rookie of the Year
Presented to an alpine or nordic patroller who in his first year as a patroller, has shown proficiency in first-aid, has given of his time beyond what is normally required by a patroller, accepted responsibility, has shown leadership and has earned the respect of the skiing public and fellow patrollers.

Division Appreciation Award
Presented to an alpine or nordic patroller who has contributed far more time and effort than would normally be expected in the performance of their assigned duties or have taken on and excelled in carrying out special projects on behalf of the Division

Public Relations Award
Presented in recognition of a patroller who has gone out of his or her way in their dealings with the general public and has made the greatest contribution in promoting the image of the system. This may include working with the media or developing a promotional program for use at an area, zone or divisional level.

Division President`s Award
Presented to the zone or area who has made the most outstanding progress and development and promoted the image of the CSPS.

Division Executive Award
Present to the Zone President or Division Vice President who has contributed the most through his or her efforts to unite and strengthen the division in relation to its aims and objectives.

Life Saving Award
Presented to that patroller or patrollers in the division for the most outstanding first-aid feat involving personal risk or an action that saved a life from a danger that would have caused death. This may involve first-aid rendered on or off the ski hill at any time during the previous year.

Gary Chapman Patrol Leader Award
Presented to the Patrol Leader in the division who has done the most to strengthen or maintain a high level of proficiency within in his or her patrol and has exhibited a high degree of administration. The Patrol Leader must display leadership qualities, delegate responsibility and authority, maintain good rapport with the mountain management, Zone, Division and most importantly with the area patrollers, be able and on duty regardless of being rostered, set a level of expertise, conduct and standards of the patrol, provide the skiing public and hill management with a high level of coverage and operation.

Outstanding First-Aid Award
Presented to that patroller or patrollers in the division for first-aid rendered, in a life threatening situation. This situation may be on or off the ski hill during the operating year (April to March)
The award follows the life saving awards criteria and is to be used for situations where in despite all the efforts of the patroller or patrollers the person has not survived the accident.

Division Long Service Award
Presented to a patroller that meets or exceeds the following criteria. Minimum of 10 consecutive years of service, has held an executive position with the patrol, zone, or division level, has been previously awarded a division award, has and is actively demonstrating leadership in the patrol.

Presented to the winning team of the Annual Division First-Aid Competition held in conjunction with the AWD Conference in March each year.
